USING MACINTOSH COMPUTERS
There are no major problems with Mac OS 9 (9.2 is much more stable than earlier ones).
Regarding Mac OS X, use 10.1.2 and higher; linking cursive does
not work on versions earlier than 10.1.2. You have a choice of
three different Mac installers: OS auth 9_X (OS 9 or X, requires you to enter
a password), OS 9_X(OS 9 or X), and OS7_8_9 (no OS X installed). The CD contains more information
about which installer to use.
If you have an OS 7 computer, your computer might not be able to read the CD. If you have an OS 8 or newer computer, you can get the fonts onto your OS 7 computer by opening the CD on your newer computer, and copying the fonts and programs onto media that you can read on your old computer. See the file Mac_Making_Copies.txt in the Macintosh folder for instructions.
We have tested the current CD on OS 10.5.1 with Word 2008 and iWork '08.
Look in Mac Troubleshooting for information on some word processor glitches.
USING WINDOWS SYSTEMS
The fonts run on every version of Windows, even Windows 3.1, up through Vista and Word 2007. We no longer have an installer that runs on Windows 3.1; however, you can install the fonts and the Linkletter programs on Windows 3.1 by following the instructions in the the file W_RAW_FONTS.TXT in the Windows\RawFonts folder.
If any fonts do not show up in your word processor after you run the installer, restart your computer.
